I can weather the STORM!

If it’s one thing in life that I’ve learned it’s this…. ” I can weather any storm!”  The same way we prepare for a storm in the natural is the same way we should be prepared in the spirit. Think about it! When we hear that we will be hit by a storm the first thing we do is begin to prepare and get everything that we will need to sustain us through the storm.  Some storms we are aware of and then there are those that are unexpected. Either way, the storm comes, we MUST BE PREPARED.

I believe we’ve all encountered a storm in our life that we thought would wipe us out! Like myself, you may have thought the winds of life had blown too hard, the rain wouldn’t stop and the dark cloud probably would never pass over. But, I want to speak to your faith today and remind you of a few key things!

Luke 6:48
“He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built.”

  • Your foundation is important– The foundation serves the purpose of completely distributing the load from a structure.  When your foundation is Christ you are sure to stand strong! What you build your life on matters.  No storm can come and knockdown, tear down or blow away what stands on a firm foundation. When you build your life on the word of God, have faith, and trust in his strength nothing can take you out. No storm is powerful enough to destroy you! That divorce can’t break you because of the foundation you are standing on, you’re still the bride of Christ! Depression can’t overtake you because of your foundation and God has your mind covered (he’s your roof). That sickness won’t take you out because you know that you are standing on God’s word and know that he is a healer!  You shall not be shaken, you shall not be moved because the FOUNDATION your life is built on! You are WELL BUILT!
Luke 1:37
“For nothing will be impossible with God.”
  • Your Faith will carry you through- Some storms seem impossible to get through but the word reassures us that nothing is impossible with GOD!  Even when it “looks” a certain way we must remember that faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. We can’t always see how GOD is doing it for us but we know that he is working on our behalf. Your faith in the lord is what will carry you through some of the most trying storms in your life. It is FAITH that allows you to see GOD in the midst of the storm! It is FAITH that prepares us for the rough winds and high tides of life! It is FAITH that allows us to say no matter what this storm may throw my way I will make it through it! Even after all the storms I have been through  I am still standing!

To every reader that comes across this blog, I want you to think back and remember all the may storms you have faced and been through. Take a moment and give God what’s due to him, that’s all the praises and glory!  Now that you’ve done that, acknowledge that you are a survivor. Be grateful that you have lived through your storms and you’re able to testify of the goodness of Jesus. Be a witness to others of how great God is and how blessed you are to have built your life on a foundation that can not be shaken! Sometimes we need to be reminded of just how good GOD has been to us!

No storm lasts too long! The storm may come but it’s sure to pass over! Stand firm on the foundation of Christ! Keep the faith!
