The Naked Truth
I believe people are afraid to be real in fear of judgment. NEWSFLASH: WE WEREN’T BORN TO BE PERFECT, WE WERE BORN TO BE REAL!!!! We make life so much more complicated for ourselves trying to live out a lie and hide our TRUTH. There’s no point that you have to prove, there’s no image that you have to keep up, there’s no one you should be trying to please or impress except for GOD! It’s so important to get to a place where you can accept “YOUR TRUTH” and just BE REAL. Just because you’ve had a nasty attitude, cursed like a sailor, fornicated, lied, cheated, been abused, went to jail, stolen from others, been addicted drugs or alcohol and so on does not make you a bad person. All of us have made poor choices in life and many that we aren’t proud of! GOD gave his only begotten son and what happened on Calvary lets us know that no matter what we face, encounter or have done Jesus died for our sins and can redeem us!
Pretending requires you to dress up/cover/hide by clothing yourself in fake smiles and lies. Being REAL allows us to be NAKED and UNASHAMED! Life becomes so much easier when we understand that it’s not PEOPLE who can disqualify or reject us from anything! GOD himself used sinners! Look at a few people from the bible who didn’t have the best background, who’ve made mistakes and sinned.
Rahab the Prostitute: Rahab was a Prostitute. Despite her background, she was used by God in mighty ways. She was a woman of great faith and helped the people of God.
King David: Committed sins of adultery, deception, and murder. David repented, asked God for forgiveness, and God forgave him
Apostle Paul (formerly “Saul of Tarsus”): Murdered, Harassed, and Persecuted Christians in the early Church. He had a dramatic encounter with God on the road to Damascus, repented, and God forgave him of his sins.
Apostle Peter (Peter the Disciple): Denied Jesus three times, and failed many times (just like us).
I want to encourage you today!! DO NOT BE ASHAMED OF WHAT YOU HAVE DONE! BE REAL AND TRUTHFUL WITH OTHERS! There is someone out there that needs to be free based off of your testimony! No matter how ugly our pasts are or the things we’ve done are GOD still loves us!1 Peter 4:8 says Above all, love each other deeply because love covers over a multitude of sins.
LOVE PEOPLE FOR WHO THEY ARE! ACCEPT YOUR TRUTH, OWN YOUR ACTIONS, BE REAL ENOUGH TO SHOW PEOPLE THAT GOD USES THE MOST IMPERFECT PEOPLE TO DO HIS PERFECT WILL!
MY NAKED TRUTH IS- I NO LONGER CLUB,DRINK,LIVE IN SIN OR REACT NEGATIVELY TO THE THINGS THAT USE TO TRIGGER ME.
I AM FREE- I CAN ACCEPT PEOPLE WHERE THEY ARE, APPRECIATE AND RESPECT THE STRUGGLES OF OTHERS. I UNDERSTAND I HAVE MORE IN COMMON WITH OTHERS THAN DIFFERENCES.I HAVE LEARNED THAT I AM NOT FOR EVERYBODY, THAT PEOPLE DON’T ALWAYS HAVE THE SAME HEART. I CAN EXPECT FOR PEOPLE TO TREAT ME HOW I TREAT THEM BECAUSE IT’S NOT ALWAYS POSSIBLE. I DON’T FORCE MY EXPECTATIONS ON OTHERS. I ALLOW OTHERS TO BE THEM AND BASE MY DEALINGS WITH THEM OFF OF WHAT THEY SHOW ME. I ALLOW GOD TO ORCHESTRATE MY THOUGHTS AND ACTIONS. I HAVE LEARNED THE ART OF SILENCE, AND TO EXERCISE MY THREE P’S (PAUSE/PRAY/PRAISE). I AM NOT ASHAMED TO SAY THAT GOD USED MY NEGATIVES TO BIRTH MY POSITIVES! I CAN LOVE WITH NO LIMITATIONS BECAUSE GOD LOVES ME WITHOUT THEM, I CAN BE REAL BECAUSE GOD IS REAL!
