It’s not what you know, It’s WHO you know!

All my life I heard the saying “It’s not about what you know but WHO you know!” Growing up I would always wonder why is it that “who you know ” is more important than what you know. Looking back over my life I have found this saying to be true. As I sit here reflecting on life and my accomplishments no matter how much I know, I have found that it has always been about who I was connected to that has really gotten me to where I am.

All the education and knowledge that I have acquired over the years isn’t a match to me knowing the father! Nothing I have today or where I am today has anything to do with a degree, title, credit, or my financial status. Where I am and who I am today is all about WHO I KNOW! It is God who has allowed me to get to the place that I am in today. If I didn’t “know” him then I wouldn’t “know” the people who GOD strategically aligned on my path to help be a vehicle to safely get me to the destinations he needed me to arrive to.

I have learned a lot along the way. I’ve taken classes, attended conferences, and I’ve even been a part of many resourceful groups. But I wouldn’t have been able to have attended or even met the people  I have if I wasn’t obedient to the one “WHO”  lead me to do so. So, by now I’m sure you can see it’s because of “WHO” you know and not “WHAT” you know that you are where you are today. I now fully understand and find this saying to be true now more than ever.

I have been told no and rejected from opportunities that I am well able to have. Regardless of how much I knew, how knowledgeable I was in the area, and how great at it I may have been, a NO from man was simply a NO. Plot twist!! I took every NO and rejection that was thrown my way and talked to WHO I had given my  YES to, GOD! As I countdown to enter into my next chapter in life I’m blessed to know what I know. I am even more grateful for WHO I know and that’s GOD. Every relationship, friend I have met and connected with, financial blessing, opportunity, and more is because I KNOW GOD.

Looking forward to the new beginnings ahead and all that God has in store for me I am not relying on “WHAT” I know but ” WHO” I know! Don’t get me wrong, it is very important to be informed, educated, and well aware of things. You can know “what” the bible is but you won’t know what’s in it until you read it. You can read it, but won’t understand it until you study it. You won’t know how the word works until you apply it and you won’t know how to apply it until you KNOW the Lord, build your relationship, become obedient and allow Him to give you instruction to lead you along the way. Be blessed and encouraged as you continue on your journey and walk with the lord.
