Have you Prepared for what you Prayed for?

Many have a list of things that you want or expect God to do. You’ve been praying prayers for quite some time now and many of you have been getting discouraged. God hears you just as well as he sees you. But I want to ask you this… Have you been preparing for what you’ve been praying for?

The meaning of PREPARE is to make ready beforehand for some purpose, use, or activity.

Yes, the word tells us to seek and pray to God for the things that we desire, want, and need. One thing we must remember is that our prayers are activated through our FAITH and belief in the father! We can have faith for God to do “that thing” but God is also looking for us to work our faith! James 2:14 says What does it profit, my brethren if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? Have you been working (PREPARING) for what you have been praying for?

You can pray for a financial increase but don’t expect God to give more when you are lacking money management and have poor stewardship. You cannot be unfaithful with giving and have a high expectation of receiving! Do you give as you should? Do you tithe as you should? Do you sow seeds? Do you bless others? How’s your budgeting? How have you been preparing?

You can pray for homeownership but you can’t get upset when it hasn’t happened yet! Have you been saving? What’s your debt to income ratio? Have you been looking? Have you worked on your credit score? Can you afford to pay your down payment? Did you meet with realtors? Have you spoken to a loan officer or mortgage broker to see what you need? How have you been preparing?

You can pray for marriage but you can’t get upset when it’s not happening on your time. Have you spent time building your relationship with Christ and becoming his bride? If you lack commitment and dedication to your relationship with Christ how do you expect to have a lifelong marriage to someone? Have you been working on your attitude? Your finances? Healing from past hurts or traumas? Your career? Your prayer life? Your selfish ways? Do you understand what marriage is and how sacred it is? What books have you been reading? How have you been conducting yourself in your single season? How have you been preparing?

I’m pretty sure that by now you see what God is trying to show you. There are many things you have prayed for that God has not yet released. It’s not because he doesn’t love you… It’s because HE LOVES YOU! I want you to take the time today to honestly answer this question! ARE YOU PREPARED FOR WHAT YOU ARE PRAYING FOR? Some things are on hold right now because if God released some of the things many of you have been praying for right now, you’d mishandle it. There is a level of spiritual maturity required! You don’t pray for God to do a thing and then prepare for it. You prepare and he provides the blessings!

This is the season where God is looking to release uncommon favor and blessing to those who have prepared to receive them. There are prayers that are about to be answered for those who have worked the wait! Your faithfulness and commitment to GOD are about to show you just how fast his hands are moving in your life!

To those who honestly identified that there needs to be some adjustments made, do the work! Repeat this prayer

God, I pray that  I will seek you for who you are and not just for what you can do. May my desire for you be greater than my desire for the things of this world. Search me oh lord, renew the right spirit within me. Lord help me to prepare MYSELF for what I have been praying for. Lord once my mind, spirit, and heart are right, then help me to prepare for the things I have been praying for. Please let me be the person I need to be to handle it all. Let my works match my faith. God, I am ready to do what it takes to live my life on the level you are calling me to. Help me to become consistent, committed, focused, and in the right position and posture at all times.

In Jesus’ name. Amen
