Have you been tried in the FIRE?

There’s an old song that I use to hear by The Florida Mass choir called “Have you been tried in the fire”. Over the weekend I took time to reflect and spend some quiet time with God. I was working on a project and paused, I began to think about my mother’s death anniversary approaching. I sat in the middle of my bed and looked at her picture that’s sitting in the middle of my dresser. I heard God clearly speak to my spirit and say Have you been tried in the fire?

I remember a time when I thought the fire that was sent to purify me would be the very thing to take me out. As February 24th approaches I was able to sit and allow God to show me how that chapter in my life tried me! I began to play the song and listened to the question ” Have you been tried in the fire?” The Choir responds “Yes” and then the question was asked, ” Did you come through as pure gold”. I immediately began thanking God! I went through the fire!!! God took me through a fire experience to show me how he has brought me through. I remember when I use to get bent out of shape looking at a picture. I remember when the enemy would try to trick my mind. He would try to use my emotions against me. The enemy wanted my mind and wanted me to be depressed! BUT GOD! He had to speak to my spirit and show me that I had been tried through the fire! He allowed me to come through as pure gold.

Like myself, many of you have been through some life experiences that have challenged you to the core! You may not have been through the same situation or experienced the same losses but you’ve been tried in the fire. What I want you to see is that the fire experience is one we all must face. There’s something that takes place IN the fire!! It is IN the fire where the refining process happens! It is IN the fire where we are tested! Just as gold has to be tested in the fire to see how much of it is pure and impurities must be removed, we too have to be tested. There was a conversion process that took place in my life as I was being processed through the fire! It’s the reason why I am who I am today! Had I not trusted the Lord fear could’ve allowed me to get burnt. Let me encourage you not to fear the fire because God, the refiner, carefully watches the process!

Towards the end of the song the artist continuously asks ” DID YOU COME THROUGH?”  He questions are you living right? Giving right? Are you walking right? Are you talking right? Then he ends and says are you living for Jesus???  Once you have been tried in the fire, you must understand that you don’t come out the same way you went into it!!! For those of you who have been tried in the fire….. Let me ask you this… DID YOU COME THROUGH? For those who are going through their fire and refining process… YOU WILL COME THROUGH and you will be like PURE GOLD!
